The film is an inner journey about identity and the search for the meaning of ‘home’. Instead of an ego document, it is a universal story reflecting our own experiences with each other, and a diversity of people in terms of race, culture, language and class. In portraying her native country director Saskia Vredeveld goes far beyond the well-known, stereotypes. South Africa’s evocative landscapes will be superbly photographed for cinema screens. But above all Vredeveld has an eye for very strong images, showing the current state of the land in its naked form.
